Fiddler! A Musical
Fiddler! A Musical approaches musical theatre as an experimental tradition. Loosely responding to Fiddler on the Roof, it follows twentieth-century Jewish performative forms across Russia, Berlin and New York, and considers their relation to exile, expulsion and state violence.
Jewish mysticism, cabaret, vaudeville, expressionist dance, stand-up and the Broadway musical animate a work in which composition, objects and light take centre stage.
